About us

Welcome

Through this site we call upon visitors to share a glance of their personal story of life-giving Mother Earth: ’the natural environment from which we all originate.’ We suggest to think of one or more key-notions (present day experience), such as:

– Shore,
– Fellow-Pilgrim,
– Senses,
– Story … maybe a blend in which Shore, Fellow-Pilgrim and Senses ‘call into life’.
In doing so we question our customary loyalty to nation-state and corporate administration that tend to fraction our sense of Whole.
Click on the names for the two examples that arose between Miguel and Jacob.
In searching this site there will be plenty evidence of sacred beauty (life), but also of broken promise (death).

Meaning

‘WAYANA’ is the name of a remnant of ancient indigenous people, right there where the modern nation states Surinam, Brasil and French Guyana hit upon each other. This remnant of Wayana-people is very much under threat of modern extraction of mother earth: gold mining being only one of its expressions. They make only one of the numerous many communities in state of destruction-by-indifference.
As many other native tribal names, their name Wayana matches in a sense the old Hebrew concept of ‘Adam / Adama / Earth / Natural Environment in which we originate’.

Origin

‘Wayana-Call’ arose in preparation for the 11th General Assembly of the World Council of Churches (Karlsruhe Germany 2022): fruit of 11 years of intense pilgrimage of members of especially CLAI-AELAPI and Peace Church Tradition.

Purpose

‘Wayana-Call’ aims to be a voice of Life:
– Focusing forst of all on healing and peacemaking amidst forces of extraction,
– Providing forum for meeting with ancestral (indigenous) wisdom,
– Doing justice to the spirit of the past 11th Assembly of the World Council of Churches, thus providing for broader exposure and feed back.
