Wayana; 'The natural environment from which you originate'

Through this site we invite you to think of yourself as ’the natural environment from which you originate’ – instead of the nation-state in which you happen to be born. The idea arose in preparation for the 11th General Assembly of the World Council of Churches, during an intense period of meeting with the Ecumenical Latin American Indigenous Ministry (CLAI-AELAPI). Key is the alienating clash between ’the sense of connection and personal involvement with Mother Earth’ on the one hand, and ‘State and Corporate administration’ on the other.

‘Wayana-Call’ aims to be a voice of Life:
– it shares on healing and peacemaking amidst forces of extraction
– it does provide forum for meeting with ancestral (indigenous) wisdom
– the upcoming 11th Assembly of the World Council of Churches does provide for broader exposure and feed back
‘Wayana-Call’ came into being around 2011:
it was triggered by modern gold mining
soon it became aware of extractives forces in all (!) venues of today’s economic development
